WALKING HOLIDAYS IN ITALY

It is no secret that Italy boasts an incredibly rich cultural heritage. As a country it has the world’s highest number of UNESCO World Heritage Sites and enjoys a vast number of very important works of art known to all. One out of every three towns/cities features at least one museum, without mentioning the countless archaeological sites and other places, monuments and architectural wonders that are scattered around the country and completely unknown and/or often overlooked.

Such cultural treasures go hand in hand with an extraordinary number of beautiful and varied natural landscapes, from spectacular mountains and volcanic peaks, to rolling hills and cultivated plains to picturesque coastlines and lovely islands (just to name a few). Owing to its geographical location stretching from the Alps to the Mediterranean Sea, Italy is also the most biodiverse country in Europe.

Each of its 20 regions are home to unique identities, customs and traditions, all of which are reflected in regional cuisines and wines -arguably some of the best in the world.

It is the country’s (or countries’?) diversity, as well as the remarkable quality and concentration of its natural, cultural and historic heritage that makes each trip to Italy unique. Our walking holidays aim to help you discover and appreciate the extraordinary wealth this country has to offer, one step after another.
